The Role
This is a full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist position in Recovery/PACU. You will support the GM/DON and NUM, mentor colleagues and help drive quality and safety across the day surgery. Experience in the hospital's specialties and in a fast-paced day or short stay setting will be well regarded.
In this role, you will:
Deliver evidence-based care, monitoring patient wellbeing and providing safe, high-quality treatment at each stage of the hospital stay.
Prepare the facility, equipment and clinical environment for safe, efficient surgery.
Coordinate and support procurement so the team has the resources it needs.
Maintain clear team communication, assess patient progress and respond promptly to changes or complications.
Mentor and educate colleagues, sharing your clinical knowledge to support safe, consistent practice.
Support the GM/DON and NUM with quality and safety activities and continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring
Advanced experience as a Recovery/PACU nurse in a surgical hospital setting.
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role, or a commitment to working towards them.
Advanced clinical and technical capability, with sound problem-solving skills.
A genuine passion for education, mentoring and clinical leadership.
The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with patients, doctors, colleagues and other stakeholders.
Solid time management, organisational and communication skills.
