The Role
This is a full-time or permanent part-time position for an Ophthalmology Scrub Scout Registered Nurse. You will supervise and support Enrolled Nurses on shift. Experience in the hospital's other specialties and in a fast-paced day or short stay setting will be well regarded.
In this role, you will:
Deliver evidence-based care, monitoring patient wellbeing and providing safe, high-quality treatment at each stage of the hospital stay.
Prepare the facility, equipment and clinical environment for safe, efficient surgery.
Maintain clear team communication, assess patient progress and respond promptly to changes or complications.
Provide clear education, guidance and reassurance so patients feel confident managing their recovery after discharge.
Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses on shift, fostering confidence, teamwork and safe practice.
Promote continuous improvement, safety and excellence across the hospital.
What You Will Bring
Experience as a Perioperative Ophthalmology Scrub Scout nurse in a surgical hospital setting.
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with patients, doctors, colleagues and other stakeholders.
Solid time management, organisational and communication skills.
